FREE e-learning course to help workplace return

As a business owner, if you’ve not already reopened your workplace, you’re probably thinking about getting ready to return.

If that’s the case, we’ve created a free e-learning action plan to help you understand and manage the risks of returning to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The online course focuses on planning the return to work for senior managers and business owners. At the end of it, you will understand the steps needed to start your return to work process.

Current guidance from Government is that businesses should work from home wherever possible, to help stave off a second spike of the virus in the autumn and winter months. However, with regulations regularly changing as the virus continues to spread and the potential for more local lockdowns as the year progresses, businesses will need to understand what their responsibilities are.

If you’re ready to start planning your reopening, this course looks at the five key areas you need to focus on so you can prepare, plan and implement any changes you may need to adhere to social distancing measures and other advice from Government or health authorities.

Have you done your COVID risk assessment?

The Government has said employers must carry out a COVID-19 risk assessment of workplaces as soon as possible. You will still need to follow the five steps of risk assessments to identify hazards, assess risks and take action to prevent them, but this assessment will focus solely on risks of coronavirus transmission.

As an employer, you have a legal responsibility to protect workers and others from risk to their health and safety. This means you need to think about the risks they face and do everything reasonably practicable to minimise them, recognising you cannot completely eliminate the risk of COVID-19.

Great Britain’s workplace health and safety regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has maintained its regulatory functions during the outbreak and supported the response to COVID-19 by the UK Government. It will be performing spot inspections to make sure employers are keeping their employees safe.

The course outlines the steps you need to take to enable you to make decisions on the required control measures for your business to declare it COVID-secure.
