Annual Report - focuses on membership benefits to drives sales

How can you make an annual report forward looking and not simply reporting the past 12 months achievements?

As the second largest Chamber of Commerce in the UK, East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), has strong ambitions for the region and businesses within it. Having experienced significant changes over the past few years and more radically transformed over the past 12 months - the Chamber needed to shout about the benefits of membership to both existing and potential customers.

“The annual report is a very important document for the Chamber, it details how and what we have delivered for our members over the previous year. However, we needed to illustrate what being a member could offer. The challenge was, how to communicate this, given the diversity of our customer base and portfolio of membership benefits, a large number of which are size and sector specific.

Quiet Storm were recommended as someone who could help with this and stepped up to the challenge. Working with them enabled us to view the Chamber from the perspective of the different membership types. This then enabled us to work jointly to develop a clear and focused set of benefits for each different size of organisation, either as a member or prospective member.

The result is a new focus on the value membership delivers to any size of business. It’s clear, and makes it easy for anyone to see just how being a member delivers the business owners a very tangible return on investment.”
